Eye at the End of the Road: Cityscape Final Part*, by Nadia Daniels-Moehle. 2019. Acrylic on canvas.

“Cityscape” is inspired by what is found beneath our eyelids. Within dreams, endless cities appear and morph, perhaps this is only our subconscious unfolding the life we’ve experienced while our eyes are awake. In the three “Cityscape” paintings, the eyes are part of a dank landscape that defies perspective and comes crashing toward you. The open and empty doorways are invitations to fill up the paintings with what you witness in dreams.
